I’ve been traveling between Maryland and Michigan. Usually I pick up coins along the way; travel plazas, Cabelas, or local restaurants. I was looking at places where I could have missed when I spotted that Cumberland listed a local that is just off the highway.
I got this coin from the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Hopefully I’ll pick up the coin from Hagerstown next time.
I also see a flaw in the new Trade List coding. It’s always harder with Washington DC… The way I had it arranged that it’s both a state and the only city. However, I’ll have to put in special output code so the bullets will be lined up.
New EC from the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad Cumberland, MD

I still have a set of Israelis EC’s to scan, but I stashed them away somewhere and they are not to be found
Right now, I’m working on improving the trade list. Not its contents, but its looks. I hope to get a nesting bullet format, but I think there’s a bug in my code.
Over the Christmas holidays, I bought a bunch of coins from Israel.
They took months to arrive, but when they did, I had no time to scan and upload the pictures.
Now I’m slowly setting up the site for these additions. Now “Israel” is listed in the Image Gallery, but there are SQL error messages since I haven’t setup the districts yet.
There are 6 districts: Central, Haifa, Jerusalem, Northern, Southern, and Tel Aviv. It’ll take some time to figure out which city belongs to which district and create the appropriate pages for them.
Stay tuned.
We’re going to Fisherman’s Wharf today and I thought I should clean up my pages before going. I didn’t label any of the shops specifically to locate inside Fisherman’s Wharf, but I think it’s a better idea to group them together.
I also realized that I’m missing the picture of the coin from After the Quake.
I got a box for backlog coins. Here are some that I cleared out today:
Replaced zinc coins with copper at Indiana Toll Road Travel Plaza Ernie Pyle Travel Plaza 7 Howe, IN
New EC’s from Museum of Discovery & Science Ft. Lauderdale, FL (traded with Sally back in August)

A few corrections were made on the previous entries, thanks to Paul’s information.
Here are the coins from the remainder of the trade, from Paul and Doug
New EC’s from Morehead Planetarium and Science Center Chapel Hill, NC
New EC’s from Marbles Kids Museum Raleigh, NC
New EC from Simonian Farms? Fresno, CA

Wishing everyone a smashing year!
I wanna give a big thanks here to Adam who helped me with my copper penny supplies!!
I pressed a few coins on the PA turnpike with the coins (the cat mint can comes in handy too). Hopefully I’ll get to scan in those coins soon.
While driving through the Ohio Turnpike, I’ve noticed that many of the service area machines have been replaced. Next weekend, I’ll try to get a more recent set of coins from the turnpike. In the meanwhile, the status for the old coins are marked “retired”.
Here are some trades with Paul from the end of 2008:
New EC’s from Museum of Life and Science Durham, NC

I’m starting to rescan old images to match the new 150% standards. I don’t think it makes too much of a difference though…
I’ve completed through Arizona.
Made a few changes to the site. Very minor, probably never noticed:
- I added the island names to the city list on the Hawaii page. Now everything is sorted by island first and city second.
- The website counter is now using “views” instead of “visitors”. Using visitors is not really accurate since each visitor clocks a few counts per visit.
- The categories on the right hand side now lists the number of posts.
- Exploris coin from Raleigh, NC is retired.
- There were a few typos on my trade list, so please ask me to verify the coins you would like when you ask for a trade. Thanks!
I’m not sure why but the site’s been receiving a lot of spam comments in the past few days. I’ve activated Askimet and hopefully that’ll take care of the problem.
