Hey! It’s been a while.
I’ve been preoccupied with moving for the past few weeks. Now I’m finally at my new location, yet all my coins are still boxed up
Jennifer got me a set of ECs on her vacation in Ithaca, but I won’t be able to scan them in until I find the box which they’re packed into.
Updated some information on EC cleaning and location mapping. Feel free to comment if I posted any misinformation.
Take a look at David’s Google map members location. I just got listed
Because I’m the only one manning (or womanning, if you would) this page, I make A LOT of mistakes. One of these mistakes is not knowing that Akismet blocks valid comments…
I’m thrilled whenever people leave comments. Consequently, I’m really upset when comments go unanswered due to my stupidity. This post is to answer Brown’s request on expanding the Coding, etc. post.
If you were asking about the Trade List coding, here is the source code.
If you were talking about the EC Information page (which I think you were), I wrote a few more paragraphs here.
I’d like to separate these pages out, but I’m having a hard time correcting the WordPress header… In the meanwhile, if you find some links missing, it’s because I’m messing around the page.
I was reading a finance article on countries with the highest salaries. The US is on there, along with a mixture of European countries. The figure that stood out was the number of holidays - you go down the list and everyone has 20+ number of things to celebrate for, then you come to the United States which has 11… What I’m trying to say is that since we only have half as many holidays, we should party twice as hard on these scares occasions.
I’m spending most of the weekend driving, from Maryland to Michigan then back again, but I hope to get a few penny presses as well.
Planned Trip #1 - Potawatomi Zoo
The Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend, IN has a new set of design that I’d like. The roadblock literally is with Notre Dame and its football schedule. No coin is worth that kind of traffic hassle.
Planned Trip #2 - Interstate 80/90 Travel Plazas
One of these days, I’ll get all the coins on this strip of highway. I’ve driven the interstate back and forth numerous times but can never remember which coins I own and which ones I’m still missing.
During my week long business trip, I drove down to Panama City Beach to press some pennies. Two hours each way, which made this quite a detour.
Most of these locations are tourist traps, with the exception of Angelo’s Steak Pit, which looked like a nice restaurant. But if you look closely, most of their coins have a misspell “PAMAMA” instead of “PANAMA”.

Was messing around with the trade list code for a little bit. I think I finally got the everything to list properly, not that anyone will notice.
Also added an Information page! I hope to develop this to a full guide at a later time, but for now, just some trivial notes on the hobby.
Jason gave this coin to me one day after his YMCA camp. He said he found it on the ground.
I washed it carefully and cataloged it. It’s one that I don’t have
New EC from WDW Resort Walt Disney World

New ECs from San Diego Zoo San Diego, CA

I got my first North Dakota coins from Paul this weekend! It’s always exciting to gain a new state into the collection.
New ECs from Dacotah Territories Gift Shop Medora, ND
New EC from Fort Cody Trading Post North Platte, NE

I realized that if I have to scan the new San Diego Zoo coins all at once, I probably will wait till Christmas to get started. So, a machine at a time, whenever I get a minute.
I have the Komono Dragon coin from previous trades already, but it was in zinc. I’m glad to have a chance to upgrade my current collection.
